Leighton Group companies Leighton Asia and John Holland, in joint venture with Balfour Beatty and Kumagai Gumi, have secured a design and construct rail project in Hong Kong for the Kowloon Canton Rail Corporation (KCRC).  This contract includes construction of an approximately 1,050 m underground railway tunnel and associated civil works and the Yau Ma Tei Ventilation Building.

The railway tunnel will link West Rail and East Rail between Nam Cheong station and the new East Tsim Sha Tsui station.  The Yau Ma Tei Ventilation Building is where Colt’s weatherproof louvres located to provide good ventilation whilst excellent rain defense to all those equipments and facilities within the building.
